Every 5 years, Kassel becomes the center of the art scene with its 100-day art exhibition that spreads across the entire city. Around 100 artists from all over the world present their artworks at various locations and in different forms. Each Documenta thus has its own character and charm. (Next Documenta in 2022)
The Autohof is directly located at the A7 (Exit 79) and A49 (Exit 2), making it easily accessible for travelers, families, conference participants, as well as visitors to the city of Kassel or trade fair attendees at the nearby exhibition grounds. The SVG Autohof covers a total area of 62,000 square meters and, due to its ideal location and well-developed infrastructure, is a central point for freight traffic, travelers, and both private and business people. The Autohof has a total of 190 truck parking spaces, 150 car parking spaces, as well as 5 bus and motorhome spaces. Due to its excellent location, the Autohof is not only accessible by car via the A7 or A49 but is also well-served by public transport. Bus line 35 of the NVV stops directly at the Autohof.
Nearby, you will find Kassel’s city center, the Kassel State Theater, the Karls-Aue park, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage site Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe with the Hercules statue, which are not only popular attractions during the Documenta but also draw numerous visitors throughout the year.
With 13 halls and 82,500 sqm, the Kassel Trade Fair is located in the heart of Germany. With many different exhibitions spread throughout the year, it offers an attractive exhibition venue for both visitors and exhibitors.
A central and easily accessible shopping street with shopping galleries, specialty stores, cafés, and restaurants offers everything the heart desires. Trams, buses, and plenty of parking provide good connections and short distances.
Just a few steps from the city center, you’ll find the Aue, a park covering approximately 150 hectares, inviting visitors to walk, exercise, and explore. Highlights include the Orangerie, the Planetarium, and the Central Pavilion.
A unique mountain park with an exceptional variety of trees and plants is considered the main attraction of Kassel. Special landmarks in the park include the Löwenburg, Wilhelmshöhe Palace, the Hercules, and the water fountains.

Der Autohof verfügt über insgesamt 190 LKW-Parkplätze, 150 PKW-Parkplätze sowie 5 Bus- und Wohnmobil-Plätze. Durch seine gute Lage ist der Autohof nicht nur mit dem eigenen Fahrzeug über die A7 oder die A49 erreichbar, sondern auch mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gut zu erreichen. Die Buslinie 35 des NVV hält direkt am Autohof.
In näherer Umgebung befinden sich die Kasseler Innenstadt, das Kasseler Staatstheater, die Parkanlage Karls-Aue, sowie das UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe der Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe mit dem Herkules, welche nicht nur zu den Zeiten der Documenta als attraktive Sehenswürdigkeiten gelten und zahlreiche Besucher anziehen.

Nur ein paar Schritte von der Innenstadt entfernt befindet sich die Aue welche mit ca. 150 Hektar zum Spazierengehen, Sport machen und Entdecken einlädt. Höhepunkte sind die Orangerie, das Planetarium sowie der Mittelpavillon.
Ein weltweit einmaliger Bergpark mit einzigartiger Baum- und Pflanzenvielfalt zählt als Hauptsehenswürdigkeit von Kassel. Besondere Sehenswürdigkeiten im Park sind die Löwenburg, das Schloss Wilhelmshöhe, der Herkules sowie die Wasserspiele.
